Select a baseline and comparison run for structure, screens, and test results
Changes compares two runs. Structure, Screens, and Test results are separate comparisons: a service map collection and a test run are not treated as a shared snapshot.
Structure and screens
- Choose Structure or Screens.
- Select two different retained service map runs as the baseline and comparison.
- Check starting URL, authentication use, capture conditions, page limit, and depth limit.
- Inspect added, removed, or changed pages in Structure, or captured visual differences in Screens.
At least two retained collection records are needed. Select the baseline explicitly; the app does not infer release versions. Pages without captures cannot provide visual comparisons.
The app indicates differing collection conditions. Missing pages can result from expired authentication, narrower scope, or partial collection. Matching settings do not guarantee the same account state or service data.
Opening a page from a comparison navigates to that page in the current service map. Inspect historical captures in the comparison itself.
Verification results
- Choose Test results.
- Select two different runs of the same test.
- Open Compare results to inspect pass, failure, and execution differences.
The initial list loads the latest 100 reports. Use Load older records to expand it. This view does not compare different test definitions with each other.
Differences in environment, account, browser, or test code can affect the results. Review conditions recorded in each report; do not assume that unrecorded conditions match.
Follow up
A visual difference is not a defect verdict. Review whether a change was intended. Record expected and observed behavior in Improvements when follow-up is needed, then retest using current code and execution conditions.
